Don Prentice is the Vice President of Network Services and has been with the Hassett Team since September of 1979.
What work does your vertical focus on?
The Network Services team handles two types of customers. Our primary focus is on eCommerce and the distribution of time-sensitive periodicals/publications. Both customers have very time-sensitive products that we handle daily. We work closely with each customer to develop a cost effective distribution plan that will meet required delivery expectations. We coordinate transportation solutions with our approved ground and air carrier partners. Our long-standing relationship with the U.S.P.S. has also helped support the needs of our Periodical Customers. We design, plan, and execute to provide our customers with a consistent and predictable distribution network.
Tell us a little about yourself?
As previously mentioned, I began my journey with Hassett in September of 1979. I have worked with the Moving and Storage division, Commercial Moving division and Hassett Air Express. Hassett has provided me with opportunities to advance and I have experienced positions in Sales, Operations, and Leadership. I have discovered that a true leader has a servant's heart! I get way more out of giving than I get out of getting. My primary focus became Customer Service and how to support our customers' needs daily 24/7/365. We are truly passionate about our customers' performance and business needs. I have been blessed to work with the most incredible customers, carrier partners, and Hassett Logistics team members. I would also like to thank my family because they allow me the time/balance needed to support the Hassett Logistics Mission.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
Who would think I enjoy Yoga several times a week! My music taste includes 70's Rock (I own the Time collection), Yanni, Enya, George Winston, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Country when needed. I have also backpacked in the Rockies, went skydiving, and still ride a Triumph Bonneville (wind therapy). My travel experience has included France, Ireland (my Island), Alaska, Hawaii, and a majority of our U.S. cities. In my spare time, I volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, blood drives, food pantries, and fundraisers.
What does The Hassett Way mean to you?
Our mission states: To deliver the highest quality of Customer Service in an atmosphere of unquestioned ethics, individual pride, and company spirit otherwise known as the Hassett Way.
The Hassett Way appears to have a direct correlation to our trusted employee and business partnerships. The team at Hassett Logistics has developed long-lasting partnerships by collaborating with our carriers and customers. This allows us to develop and align transportation solutions to create a predictable distribution network which supports our customers' business goals. Our team is very diversified and comfortable with change. We listen closely to our partners so we can continue to make adjustments and adapt to the current business environment. The one constant we continue to experience is change. Did I mention, we also have a lot of FUN in the process?
